Every so often, it’s good to branch out.
Wait. Let me rephrase that: It’s good to branch out often.
Habits are easy to fall into. It’s not always a bad thing. Some habits reinforce healthy behaviors and attitudes. On the flip side though, many habits inadvertently shield us from expanding our horizons.
They reinforce complacency, and quite frankly, get boring. Going against the grain is exciting (even if fleeting) and opens us up to new experiences, new challenges. And usually, it’s not easy.
It takes conscious thought and action. In some cases, it even takes courage.
But it’s worth it. For all of the riches many of us may never see, we can take stock in a lifetime of experiences that bring true wealth.
A lot of lofty thoughts for a tiny little art blog, I know. But I’m a firm believer that art (however you want to define it) and life are intertwined.
And though I hardly consider this art, especially since I know talented artists who work very seriously in fibers, or life altering art since it was only for fun (and for a great friend), here’s just one little way WillettArtworks branched out from the usual. Cheers to new and different!
